Cary, NC
Founded in 2012 Vets to Vets United received 501 (c) 3 nonprofit status and consists of local veterinarians and volunteers working together to provide; service, therapeutic, and emotional support animals, as well as discounted veterinary care to our veterans many of which are struggling with loneliness, depression, Post Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury, and physical disabilities. This service also significantly reduces the number of animals euthanized at the local animal shelters as NC has one of the highest euthanasia rates in the country.
Improving lives, saving lives, one veteran and one dog at a time.
We pair veterans with disabilities with rescued dogs for an enhanced quality of life.

Niche
Rescuing dogs and serving veterans with veterinarian services provided by partner veterinarians.
Through a two-year process, Vets to Vets United gives veterans what they need most in an order that is achievable. Three core tests are emphasized based on our belief that we must train our veteran/dog teams in a safe and effective manner:
1. Public Access Test: assessment is completed in the first 3 months and ensures that well educated teams are in public
2. Therapy Animal Test: completed by independent evaluators after 8 months to certify the dog for community service events
3. Service Animal Test: after their second year of training, teams should be proficient in 3 tasks to mitigate a disability in order to graduate
We deliver our mission through four strategic offerings:
